Do not trust Range Roofing and Waterproofing. Lies and deception from the very start to the very end. I paid over R5000 deposit to Mr Salvatore Brunetti, the owner of Range Roofing and Waterproofing, to do work on my roof and gutters. I paid him the deposit on the Sunday. As a courtesy to him, I said that he would only need to do the work when the deposit had reflected in his account. On the Tuesday, I asked him whether he was able to come do the work yet, but he said he couldn't - the reason why he couldn't start yet, was not because the money hadn't reflected yet, but because I had told him he only needed to start working after the deposit had reflected in his account. At this moment, I realized that I had been deceived by Mr Salvatore Brunetti and Range Roofing and Waterproofing. On the Wednesday, Salvatore started telling me a sob story about how he didn't have a place to stay anymore, and he had to look for another place to stay for his girlfriend and his son, and because he needed to look for alternative accommodation, he would not be able to start working until the Friday. I told him that I would only be on paternity leave for a few days more, and that I would need him to start doing the work the next day (the Thursday). We were then finally able to agree that he would start working on the Thursday morning 9am. On Thursday morning, Salvatore only arrived at 11am, and instead of starting to do the work, he dropped off his two workers, saying that they would only clean the gutters, and that he would be back later during the day to do the rest of the work (repairing and installing the gutters). Salvatore then left the house. A short while after he left, the workers then asked me for an extension cable, because they wanted to start installing the gutters. I reluctantly plugged in an extension cable and gave it to them so they could operate their drill and grinder, but after a few minutes, I told them to stop installing the gutters and to continue to only clean the gutters. I informed Salvatore on Whatsapp that his workers had started to install the gutters, which is not what we had agreed upon. His response was that I had agreed to allow the workers to do the work, and that I had agreed to allow him to only come back the next day. This was, of course, complete bullshit. I had only agreed for the workers to clean the gutters, and for Salvatore to return to do the repair and install work, on the same day. I then sent the workers away, because they said they had finished cleaning the gutters. My wife called Salvatore, expressing her disappointment with his actions. Salvatore's girlfriend, Ms Danel Dee Erasmus, then contacted me, asking me what the reason for the misunderstanding was. I told her that it was unacceptable for Salvatore to leave his workers at my house to do unsupervised work on his behalf. I then contacted a debt collector to contact Salvatore to refund the deposit back to me because he had not kept to our arrangement. He told the debt collector that he wouldn't refund the deposit, because he had already bought materials, and his workers had already started working. The debt collector advised me that I should get Salvatore to finish his work, as I wouldn't otherwise see my money again. I then asked Salvatore on Whatsapp whether he would finish the work or not, in which case he should either then finish the work or refund me the portion of the deposit that was owed to me, i.e. the deposit minus the materials and work done. He said that I shouldn't treat him like a dog, that his workers were allowed to work in his stead (with his consent only, regardless of the fact that I did not give consent for the workers), and that he would "see" when he has time again in the future to come finish the work. The work is still unfinished. All I can say after this experience is, heed my warning and stay far away from Salvatore Brunetti and Range Roofing and Waterproofing.Do not trust Range Roofing and Waterproofing.
